Blogging, The Ultimate Act of Masturbation

Out of boredom I've read through many of the "recently updated" blogs that typepad highlights.  I've read a few exceptional ones but the majority are "my dog peed on the carpet" sites.  The one thing that all sites seem to have in common - loneliness.  None of them get any responses and I wonder if they, ever, even get any views.

Yet! Everyone (seemingly) has one.  The internet should be about the sharing of information but it appears that none of us are really all that interested in the other persons perspective, we've all become utterly self-absorbed and I suspect it will get much worse.  When all we do is listen to our own voice we're just committing verbal masturbation.

This is the point where I should announce that I'm closing this blog forever!  And I would if my opinion wasn't so damned fascinating.

Now Jane! as I said there's no way I could close down this blog, I find me utterly spellbinding. No, even if no one had showed up from the invite I wouldn't have closed this down. I really enjoy mouthing off when the mood strikes me.

I can't tell you how many blogs I've started. I don't think one of them has had more than a dozen entries before they've been abandoned. I guess I like the regular form of masturbation better.

I do like staying in touch with the few people I've met online with whom I've 'clicked'. Do you know where any of those people are, Ann? :)

Jules, I haven't heard from Farmy in months. I'm not sure if I sent her an invite or not, to be honest. I don't know where anybody is. I don't post on any message boards anymore, except on-line newspapers.

Cheryl, I'm glad you chose to join us. Yes the BDN is a trip. I'm sort of proud of how much I annoy EJ and 4himself... creepy little losers. Thanks for the compliments re: the blog. I've got a couple more written but haven't had a chance to type them out. I write them on the bus going to and from work but when I get home I have a hard time sitting myself down and typing here - too busy annoying people elsewhere, hehe.

Jules, I remember your last blog. I kept checking in for a couple of months but you never updated it. You put a lot of work into too. The toughest thing about a blog is that there are too many out there. It's impossible to get them noticed.

I love living in MA. To get to work I can take the bus, or the bus to subway, or the train. I take the bus. That way I can just relax, less hassle.

Nice blog. I used to live in Mass., grew up in Worcester and met my husband while at college in Amherst. Then lived in NYC for 12 years, on MDI for 15 years now and here to stay. Re health care, I think President Obama will get it right eventually. Have a great day!

Why can't anyone on that board post about things that are actually covered in the news articles? It drives me nuts. The article is about new taxation laws and coolfusion decides to post about nuclear power plants. And no matter what the article is about someone has to come on every day with a tirade about libtards or Nobama Hussein. Those are the posts and posters the BDN should be censoring/banning.

I can tell by his formatting that this HRH419 character is an old enemy who used to post as OldBangor who got kicked off. We actually discussed his formatting before things turned ugly back in January I think it was. Another banned pal, Mainelyme, or Perley, was certain that this OldBangor was someone he knew, Danforth E. West. I don't know how far back you go, MaineEx, but maybe you recall Perley accusing various commenters of being DEW? The day of the "glitch," when all first names were revealed, OldBangor's first name was revealed as Danforth. Plus he put Perley through this whole guessing game of look on the map for a Maine town, check a direction, etc.
